Party has group of refugees and intends to take them upon the ship and head north to neighboring (presumably safe) city of Port Langsdale.
Cleric will awaken with dream-like memories of his last moments, before his soul was torn into the portal he helped create.
Dream - cleric awakens in tube, hurriedly equips his things, enters the vault, retrieves Voidscroll. runs up stairs, tosses room in search of potions. Drinks potion of flight. flies towards glowing blue vortex where Tradestown should be. Opens scroll, begins chanting, but it's too late. The vortex implodes in on itself as a shockwave explodes forth in a gout of flame, and everything goes dark.
Cleric awakens washed up on shoreline. There he found some wounded refugees and helped save them. They will stumble upon the clearing containing the party just as group is ready to head back to ship.
Party ambushed by tribesmen on the way back to ship. Tribesmen launch attack by killing strongest looking 'good guys,' or trying to, and chanting "Death to thieves" in draconic. Tribesmen actually believe themselves to be allied with the party, and will be surprised when party attacks them. Last remaining tribesmen may ask with dying breath why party has betrayed them.
Party gets to ship, takes last living refugees up shore to Port Langsdale.
After one full day in town, while in a busy public area, someone will receive a sealed message:
After what I witnessed, I'm shocked that you yet live. Perhaps you are worthy of the tales. We have much to discuss, yet. Meet me at sundown on the western road. Travel directly north at the fork and look for the stone with a carved face. Bring the alternative which we discussed.
